I usually try to avoid spending money on chicks on dates so a park bench date… Where we spent time getting to know each other sitting at a park bench and just chatting… I didn’t really meet this chick – whose name we will call Mariana – until about a month into my time there.Īfter our time at Parlana meeting each other, I invited her to meet me at a park nearby… She wasn’t down for hooking up that night but was down for the next time we left to enjoy the night…īut our fun didn’t end at the next date either… Well, the conversation went along and we walked back to her place before I went back to my place. We made eye contact right away and just started dancing naturally with each other.Īnyway, I invited her outside where I could hear her speak better away from the band and have a conversation… I walked up to this large crowd of people dancing…Īnd I saw this young brown Latina woman by herself. With some Portuguese also from what I remember…Įither way, I remember sitting down at a table at this event one Tuesday night….Īnd meeting some new people and making friends…īut then thinking to myself “I want to get laid.”Īs any young man in his early to mid 20s would be thinking….Īnd there was some local band playing near the front… The only languages ever practiced for the most part were English and Spanish…. On the Brazilian one, you would practice Portuguese… So at the German flag table, you would practice German. The idea was that if you were at a table with a specific flag, you wanted to practice the language of that flag. Where it is held every Tuesday at different bars each week.Īnd in these bars, there were different tables scattered about that had the flags of different countries placed on each one. Now Parlana is basically this social event held in different Bolivian cities… One of which was this social event held in Bolivia called Parlana. I was asking my boss – a very chill Bolivian dude named Julio – about clubs or bars to visit in Cochabamba that he would recommend. It might have been that organization but I don’t remember perfectly – it was some international NGO.Īnd then, on top of that, we got about another $1,500 USD roughly in funds raised online. Where my work involved being in charge of getting funds to help this specific NGO build portable toilets in the area.įrom my memory, we got some organization called Water for People to give some funds…. If you want a more detailed description of my time in Bolivia, just read this article I wrote here.Īnyway, I ended up traveling to the Amazon Rainforest in my first week down in Bolivia…īefore traveling to a city called Cochabamba.ĭuring my time in Cochabamba, I was mostly working for this NGO. To my first South American country – Bolivia! Simply put, she became suicidal due to issues in life and I tried my best to help her out but couldn’t figure out how to help her.Įither way, I was already getting funds arranged through some grants to travel through Latin America. In my time growing up there, I think we had maybe less than 10 Latinas that I can think of who graduated from my high school class.Įither way, I went to college afterwards in another state where I ended up dating this chick who was from another country initially…īut that relationship didn’t last long whatsoever – it ended fairly quick due to external issues that the chick had that I simply wasn’t capable of helping her handle. And a few black chicks also that would come by from Chicago as, for whatever reason, our small town got a lot of black folks leaving Chicago in those years to smaller towns close by.
